to the past history of germany, which includes hitler's regime, everyone has their own opinion.

minji doesn't like what was in germany during his time, hanni thinks that he was a revolutionary in his own way, albeit in the wrong steps, danielle sees his socialist policies from a somewhat sided perspective, but doesn't approve of them, haerin doesn't approve of what he did during world war ii, and hyein thinks that he changed germany's trajectory and seemed to have tarnished their past glory and respect. the girls try to be impartial and say that hitler also had good sides, but they undeniably think that he is part of germany's "shameful past".

to their current politics, because there are opinions about it too, most of the girls (minji, hanni and hyein) think that the current political situation in germany is not normal, not right and they expected something different in their last elections (and none of them have german citizenship, how ironic). most of the girls (everyone except hyein) see that the situation in germany at the moment seems to resemble hitler's regime and they start to really compare (mostly danielle, where she comes out as the six of cups) what it was then and what it is now. separately, minji does not see the situation in germany having changed and is firmly against the eu migration policy (she seems to have read about it), which merkel (from memory) created, as well as some other mistakes that in her opinion germany has made in recent years (i'm not sure what). hanni admires the current "glory" of germany and sees the positives in the country's success. she seems to be happy that the current government is "continuing on in the same vein", even though she thinks someone else should have won the election. on the other hand, hanni has a particular opinion (as far as i can tell, it's hers) about the war between russia and ukraine and she is very critical of the ukrainian president and his decisions. she seems to be for peace, but compared to people "who are not for russia", she understands why russia attacked ukraine and from a political point of view she does not blame them. she hopes that this war will end as soon as possible. danielle on the other hand, hates the path germany has taken. although she admits that they are a leading european power in many ways, which she congratulates them for, danielle thinks that they could have been better, that they could have saved themselves from recession, that they could have changed direction in a very, very different way. haerin has an even more negative opinion than danielle, but she is going in that direction. danielle and haerin also have a special opinion about the eurozone, which they believe is already on the verge of collapse and they are worried that bulgaria will be forced into the "debtor club" (the other eu countries that are not in the eurozone have refused to join at the moment, and the bulgarian government is pushing for this). hyein, on the other hand, is still understanding what is happening in the world and does not have such a strong opinion.

what i notice, however, is that the girls, excluding the youngest of them, have stricter political beliefs. hanni seems to have democratic leanings (i.e. right-wing), as much as minji, danielle and haerin sympathize with the policies of the alternative for germany and especially admire alice weidel, as if they are inspired by what she has achieved so far (i am not saying that the three have far-right beliefs, because i think afd is a centrist party). there is a girl power energy here to these sympathies. i want to mention that hanni does not sympathize with any party.
